Construction output down as UK falls into recession

Infrastructure lobby says fall in new work is consequence of cuts

A 5% fall in new work saw output drop 1.3% in the final quarter of 2023, according to the ONS.

The Q4 (October to December) fall against the previous quarter was not offset by a4% rise in repair and maintenance work.
