The Builder summarises a government report from Hiroshima and Nagasaki in the aftermath of the attacks which ended the Second World War
The United States’ decision to drop two nuclear bombs on Japan in August 1945 was not initally reported in The Builder. Maybe that was because it was not immediately clear what the implications of the attacks would be on the world, or specifically on the construction industry. Readers were left in no doubt about the power of the weapon, however, with this piece published a year after the attacks summarising a government report from the two affected Japanese cities, Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
