Andrew Stephenson says land earmarfked for link protected ‘pending conclusion of work on most effective way to serve Leeds'

Work to protect land that would be required to build the HS2 branch to Leeds is ongoing despite the government confirming it would not be continuing with the route in full.

HS2 minister Andrew Stephenson said the process of safeguarding the route has continued since the Integrated Rail Plan, which laid out the government’s plans for rail investment across the North and Midlands, was finally published late last year.
